NOTE: If you are using PowerPoint files for your Announcements, you can now use the Import Slideshow option (Home > Insert Elements > Import Slideshow) NOT the generic Slideshow option. Using the Import option will convert the file and Insert it as one cue with multiple p ages. Sometimes, you need to insert multiple Images/Videos/Announcements into a Script and set them to advance Automatically and Loop. Here are instructions for how to do this: 1) Open Mediashout 6, then open the File Explorer Window over top of it and go to the folder. Then press CTRL + A or hold down the CTRL key while selecting the needed files, then click and DRAG those slides right into the script area of Mediashout. 2) You will now see the slides have been inserted in order to your Mediashout script.
I also love the ability to add still photos and motion graphics to our worship lyrics. It's amazing how a carefully selected background can set the tone and add to the worship experience. At times settings seem to spontaneously change and I know it's not because someone other than myself was using the program. Overall: Easier to edit/arrange lyrics than the previous software we used. Pros: Ease of use for a beginner. As I've used it more, I've learned more & more things about the software, and have become very proficient in how we use it at our church. I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface of its full feature set, but for our church, we are very pleased with it. There isnt any features that we as a church have needed that mediashout does not already have available. Also ease of editing slides on the fly is our single most convienent feature we have found!
Pros: It allows me to use beautiful motions as backgrounds and I can put text over the motions. It's easy to use and very well supported by a team of very knowledgeable and helpful Christian people. I don't use/need even half of the functionality but what I do use allows me to create wonderful hour-long services in a liturgical 'high church' setting. I love my work as a visual worship leader and could not even begin to do my church justice without this wonderful and powerful software.
Instead, with your tech support it went so smoothly. I have been a broadcast television editor since 2001 and this has been the fastest and best tech support I have received in my entire career. Pros: My favorite new feature is the in line editor. It's very convenient to be able to edit slides while still running the program. Cons: I don't like the way the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the cue when the text wraps to a new slide within the cue. Overall: We started with Media Shout when we started using video presentation in our services 10 years ago. The updates and upgraded versions have continued to allow us to have a user-friendly software for our volunteers to operated for worship.
Even with a powerful machine, it may crash from time to time. I am not thrilled with the past licensing model that at times necessitated having to potentially purchase a new license if a computer crashed.
